Faculty Profiles

Application Redesign
Project Overview
The faculty profiles application allows users to look for a faculty member of the University of Texas at El Paso and review their information such as awards and honors, education, publications, grants, courses, and course evaluations.

The goal of this project was to redesign the full website.
  • Redesign the website with a new look using the university guidelines.
  • Make it responsive and accessible in mobile devices.
  • Fix the existing user frustrations and accessibility issues.

The Problems
It was time-consuming for the users to find the faculty member they were looking for. The previous design only had one tool to search for a faculty member, the alphabetical filter, making it hard to find the professor the user was searching for.
The links were not accessible. Some users did not know that the name of the faculty member was a link. Colorblind users may not be able to perceive blue on the links.
The application was not responsive.  Users were having trouble using this application on the move with their mobile devices.
